Putin Expresses Condolences to President Paudel and Prime Minister Shah Over Nepal Flood Disaster

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep condolences to President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Balendra Shah over the heavy loss of life and widespread destruction caused by floods and landslides in Nepal.

In a message sent on August 27, President Putin conveyed his sympathy over the human and material losses caused by the natural disaster.

“Please accept my deepest condolences over the heavy loss of life and serious destruction caused by mudslides and flooding in the northeastern regions of your country,” Putin said in his message.

He said Russia shares the grief of the friendly people of Nepal.

“We share the grief of the friendly people of Nepal,” the Russian president said.

Putin also asked President Paudel and Prime Minister Shah to convey his sincere sympathy to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.

He further wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in the disaster.

The devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa have caused extensive damage, with a large number of people reported missing or out of contact. The Government of Nepal has intensified search, rescue and relief operations, while expressions of sympathy and solidarity continue to arrive from the international community.
