125 Nepalis Stranded in Kerung Due to Floods to Return Home Today

A total of 125 Nepali nationals stranded in Kerung, China, due to the Bhote Koshi flood are scheduled to return home today. The Chinese side has arranged their return in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Nepalis had been unable to return after the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi on Bhadra 10 severely disrupted roads and other infrastructure in the Nepal-China border region.

According to Rasuwa Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruva Prasad Adhikari, arrangements have been made through diplomatic coordination to bring the 125 Nepalis back to Nepal today.

The stranded group includes Nepalis who had travelled to Kerung for work, business and other purposes. Authorities from Nepal and China have been coordinating their safe return following the disruption of cross-border movement caused by the disaster.
