Russia and Israel Discuss Middle East Situation and Persian Gulf Security

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko met Israeli Ambassador to Russia Oded Yosef on September 3 for talks on the current situation in the Middle East.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two sides held an extensive exchange of views on regional developments, with particular attention to the situation in the Persian Gulf.

The Russian side emphasized the importance of establishing long-term and sustainable peace and security in the region. Moscow also stressed that existing contradictions and what it described as a man-made crisis should be resolved exclusively through negotiations.

The two sides additionally discussed other international and regional issues of mutual interest.

The meeting took place amid continued tensions in the Middle East and reflected ongoing diplomatic engagement between Russia and Israel on regional security and political developments.
