Voices of Survivors Heard Inside Trishuli 3 ‘A’ Hydropower Tunnel, Raising New Hope for Rescue

The search and rescue operation for workers trapped inside a tunnel of the Trishuli 3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project in Rasuwa has raised new hope after rescuers confirmed hearing the voices of people alive inside.

According to security personnel and technical teams deployed at the rescue site, the voices of more than one person were clearly heard from inside the tunnel.

Rescuers called out from outside, telling those trapped not to panic and assuring them that rescue efforts were underway. The people inside responded positively, confirming that they could hear the rescue team.

Following the human response from inside the tunnel, a joint team of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and technical experts has intensified the rescue operation while proceeding with greater caution.

The rescue team is focusing on clearing the blocked tunnel entrance, improving the supply of oxygen inside and bringing the trapped workers out safely.

The confirmation that people are still alive inside the tunnel has strengthened hopes among rescue personnel and the families of those trapped that they can be brought out safely.
