Two Indians Killed, Two Injured After Car Plunges into Phewa Lake

Two Indian nationals were killed and two others injured after a car with an Indian registration number plunged into Phewa Lake at Gairichautara in Pokhara Metropolitan City–18.

The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Navdeep Kumar Yadav and 26-year-old Priyanshu Pandey, both from India.

Divers from the Armed Police Force pulled the two men from the lake in an unconscious condition. They were taken to the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, where doctors declared them dead at 6:20 am.

The car, bearing registration number BR 05 BB 6759, was heading toward Lakeside in Pokhara when the driver lost control and the vehicle plunged into the lake.

Two other occupants, identified as 27-year-old Anmol Kumar Yadav and 33-year-old Suraj Yadav, were rescued by Nepal Police personnel and local residents. They were taken to GMC Hospital in Pokhara for treatment and are reported to be in moderate condition.

Following information about the accident, a team of divers led by Armed Police Inspector Sharan Khadka was deployed from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 24 Kalika Battalion in Kaski for the rescue operation.
