Putin’s Meeting with U.S. Negotiators Concludes, Eighth Meeting with Witkoff

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin has concluded.

After the talks ended, the motorcade carrying Witkoff and Kushner left the Kremlin, according to Russian news agency TASS.

The meeting was held in the Red Drawing Room of the Grand Kremlin Palace. The room is traditionally regarded as a luxurious but less formal reception venue than the Green Drawing Room, which is generally used for protocol-level bilateral meetings with foreign leaders visiting Moscow on official or state visits.

This was Putin’s eighth meeting with Witkoff. Kushner, meanwhile, took part in discussions on the Ukrainian peace process for the third time.

The latest meeting between Putin, Witkoff and Kushner is seen as another stage in the ongoing direct dialogue between Russia and the United States over a possible political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
