Russian international broadcaster RT India is set to launch a new Hindi-language digital news platform, RT Hindi, on September 7 as part of its efforts to expand its reach among Hindi-speaking audiences in India.
RT India began broadcasting in India in December 2025. The network says it has expanded its audience over the past year and is now introducing a Hindi-language platform to make its news coverage, analysis and international affairs content accessible to a broader section of Indian viewers.
According to RT, the new platform will provide news and perspectives on Russia and global affairs in Hindi. The broadcaster says the service is intended to offer audiences an alternative perspective to Western media coverage.
Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister-Counsellor at the Russian Embassy in India, was the first guest at the RT Hindi studio.
In a Hindi-language interview with RT India Head of News Runjhun Sharma, Babushkin described the launch of the platform as both necessary and timely.
He said Indian audiences would now have greater access to information and perspectives on Russia and international developments in their own language.
The launch of RT Hindi marks a further expansion of RT’s digital presence in India, with the broadcaster seeking to strengthen its engagement with the country’s large Hindi-speaking audience.
