Russia Cancels Planned Early Voting in Pokhara Following Flood Disaster

Russia has cancelled the previously planned off-site early voting in Pokhara for the election to the ninth convocation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Precinct Election Commission No. 8235 decided not to conduct the early voting programme that had been scheduled for September 13, 2026, in Pokhara.

The decision was taken in view of the consequences of the mudflow and flooding disaster in northern Nepal.

Russian citizens currently staying in Nepal will instead be able to cast their ballots on September 20, 2026, as part of Russia’s single voting day abroad.

Voting will take place at Polling Station No. 8235 at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal, located at 123 Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

The announcement applies to eligible Russian citizens residing in or visiting Nepal who wish to participate in the State Duma election.
