Aeroflot to Receive First Eight MC-21 Aircraft in 2027

Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot plans to receive its first eight MC-21 passenger aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2027, followed by another 10 aircraft in 2028.
Aeroflot CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky announced the delivery schedule during the Eastern Economic Forum 2026.
According to Alexandrovsky, deliveries of a second batch comprising 90 MC-21 aircraft are expected to begin in 2029, with the entire batch scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2032.
The terms of the contract covering the leasing, delivery and maintenance of the 90 MC-21 aircraft have already been agreed, and Aeroflot expects the agreement to be formally signed in the near future.
The MC-21 aircraft will initially be deployed on shorter domestic routes, including Moscow–St. Petersburg and Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod.
Aeroflot also plans to begin training pilots, cabin crew and engineers for the domestically produced aircraft in 2027, ahead of its introduction into regular commercial service.
The MC-21 is a new-generation Russian-developed medium-range passenger aircraft. Its introduction into Aeroflot’s fleet forms part of Russia’s broader effort to expand the use of domestically manufactured aircraft in its civil aviation sector.
