‘We Did Not Flee Before, We Are Not Fleeing Now, and We Never Will’

Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that he and his colleagues are not people who would flee the country.

Oli made the remarks on Wednesday while inspecting his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, which was set on fire during the Gen Z movement on Bhadau 24 last year.

He said they had not fled in the past, were not fleeing now and would never flee in the future.

Oli also stressed that they are citizens of Nepali origin and claimed that their political standing was built through their own struggle and contribution rather than being created by others.

“We did not flee before, we are not fleeing now, and we will never flee,” Oli said. “This country belongs to us as well. We are not of some other origin; we are of Nepali origin. We were not established by others.”

Oli made the comments while inspecting the damage caused by the arson at his Balkot residence and speaking about the country’s political situation.
