Canada Imposes New Sanctions on Eight Russian Individuals

Dragon Media News Desk

Canada has added eight Russian individuals to its sanctions list, including Grigory Gurov, head of the Russian youth agency Rosmolodezh, and Alexander Kurenkov, Russia’s Minister of Emergency Situations.

According to a statement issued by the Canadian authorities, the new sanctions are linked to the conflict in Ukraine.

The Canadian government said the measures were also connected to allegations concerning the “illegal deportation” of children.

Ottawa has continued to expand sanctions against Russian officials, institutions and individuals in recent years. The latest measures are part of that broader sanctions policy.
