Hungarian Diplomat Summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry

Gabor Gergich, Hungary’s chargé d’affaires ad interim in Russia, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on October 1.

The Russian side lodged a strong protest over what it called Hungary’s unfounded and openly unfriendly demand that several Russian diplomatic staff leave the country, the ministry said.

In a reciprocal measure, some staff members of the Hungarian Embassy in Moscow and the Hungarian Consulates General in St. Petersburg and Kazan were instructed to leave Russia within two weeks.
