BRICS+ Film Festival Receives 327 Entries from 22 Countries

The BRICS+ International Film Festival, scheduled in St. Petersburg from October 30 to November 3, says it has received 327 competition submissions from 22 countries. The festival’s official website says the selected films will be announced after the programme directorate completes its review. Organisers are aiming for a programme of more than 60 films from over 15 countries; this is a target, not a confirmed final lineup.
The planned programme combines fiction, documentary and short films with competitions, special screenings and industry discussions. Such a platform can create opportunities for filmmakers to meet and exchange work across national industries. However, submissions from 22 countries alone do not demonstrate audience reach or lasting cooperation. The final selection, attendance and any resulting projects will provide clearer measures of the festival’s impact.
