The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has directed lawmaker Khagendra Sunar not to attend formal events in his capacity as a public office-holder until an investigation is completed, following the release of an audio recording linked to him.
In a statement, RSP General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya said the party was taking seriously allegations reported in the media involving conduct that could undermine a woman’s dignity, undue pressure, threats and suspicious financial transactions.

The party’s Central Disciplinary Commission has been instructed to begin an internal investigation immediately, the statement said. The RSP said it expected the relevant state agencies to conduct an independent, impartial and fact-based investigation, and pledged the party’s full cooperation.
The party said it would take further action under the law and its statute based on the findings of the state investigation and its internal inquiry. The allegations have yet to be established through an independent investigation.
