Indian actor and activist Prakash Raj has said that any change of government in India must come through elections and constitutional processes. Saying, “We are not Nepal, we are not Bangladesh,” he stressed that political change in India would be pursued through democratic means.
In an interview with India Today on Friday, Raj said the political struggle would continue through the electoral process up to the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. He described peaceful protest, questioning the government and voting as constitutional rights.
Raj made the remarks after Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained ahead of a proposed Tiranga march in Delhi. The party has been protesting against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, India Today reported.
