PM Calls for Unity to Address Governance Problems in Bada Dashain Message

Prime Minister Balendra Shah has called on citizens to unite to address corruption, poor governance, delays, inequality and political dysfunction. In a Vijaya Dashami message, he said collective effort was needed so every citizen could feel that “the government is there for us.”

Shah said overcoming social problems and distortions requires honest effort, firm resolve and collective work. He stressed that change must involve conduct as well as thinking.

Describing Vijaya Dashami as a celebration of truth’s victory over falsehood, Shah said the occasion should inspire people to reject negative tendencies such as arrogance, greed, envy, violence and discrimination. He also said Bada Dashain helps unite Nepalis across their geographic, cultural and linguistic diversity.

The prime minister wished Nepalis at home and abroad happiness, peace, prosperity and progress. He urged people to celebrate Bada Dashain according to their means and share goodwill, respect and affection with one another.
