Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has expressed hope that Bada Dashain, being observed amid disaster and grief, will bind Nepali society more firmly in unity.

In a message marking Vijaya Dashami, Lamichhane paid tribute to those who lost their lives in disasters and extended condolences to their bereaved families. He also recalled the difficult circumstances in which many people have died and thousands of families have been left homeless or displaced.

Lamichhane wished Nepalis at home and abroad happiness, peace, good health, prosperity and progress. He prayed that Goddess Durga would grant everyone the strength, wisdom and courage to face crises, rise above personal interests and serve the nation and its people. He said Bada Dashain could inspire renewed energy to move from despair towards hope and from disaster towards reconstruction.
