Fire at Furnace Oil Tank Causes Rs 15.6 Million in Damage

A fire at a furnace oil storage tank at Ambe Steel in Baksapur, Janaki Rural Municipality-5, Banke, caused an estimated loss of Rs 15.6 million.

The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday after an electrical short circuit, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Prateet Singh Rathour, spokesperson for the Banke District Police Office. A team from the Khajurakhurd Area Police Office was dispatched after receiving the report.

Police, local residents and firefighters brought the blaze under control within an hour, Rathour said. The damage estimate is preliminary, police added.
