More Than 50 Black-Necked Cranes Forage in Fields in Tibet’s Tingri County

Dragon Media Newsroom

More than 50 black-necked cranes, a nationally protected first-class wildlife species in China, have been seen foraging in farmland in Tingri Township, Tingri County, Shigatse City, in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region.

The flock includes young cranes whose wings are not yet fully developed. The birds have been searching for food alongside a herd of horses, moving through the fields without appearing to disturb one another.

The peaceful scene reflects the close coexistence of wildlife, livestock and people on the Tibetan Plateau. The cranes’ presence in the farmland also offers a striking glimpse of the region’s natural environment and the harmony between people and nature.
