Dragon Media Newsroom

The Russian Armed Forces have announced a halt to fire in the Kherson direction and a “silence regime” from 4 a.m. Moscow time on October 27 to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the settlement of Aleshki in the Kherson region.

General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defence, said the measure was intended to protect civilians, allow socially important supplies to reach the settlement and ensure the humanitarian convoy’s safe passage.

According to a statement from the Russian Defence Ministry, engineer reconnaissance will be organised to help secure the convoy’s route. The announcement is based on the ministry’s statement; independent confirmation of the ceasefire’s implementation was not available.
