Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have instructed their governments to broaden trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, India’s ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, said.
Speaking to TASS on the sidelines of the second Russia–India business forum, TIME, in Kazan, Kumar said the two leaders discussed bilateral relations after jointly participating in the BRICS summit.
Their joint participation in the BRICS business summit and visit to the INNOPROM-India exhibition in New Delhi were among the practical outcomes of that engagement, he said. The exhibition was the first Russian industrial exhibition held in India.
The TIME forum took place in Kazan on October 15 and 16. Participants discussed ways to advance bilateral trade, implement joint initiatives, develop investment projects and expand technological and economic cooperation.
