Li Xi, a senior Chinese Communist Party official, has called for higher standards and concrete measures to improve the party’s disciplinary inspection work.
Speaking at a national meeting on disciplinary inspections, Li— a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau and head of its central disciplinary inspection leading group— called for improving how inspection findings are communicated and how follow-up rectification is monitored. The meeting also launched the eighth round of inspections by the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Thirty-two institutions have been named for inspection, including the Ministry of Education, Peking University and Tsinghua University. Li said the inspections should focus on whether the institutions are implementing the CPC Central Committee’s decisions and arrangements on higher education.
