Five-and-a-Half-Hour Home Meeting: After Talks with Top Security Officials, Home Minister’s Message that ‘Action Will Not Stop’

KATHMANDU — Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held discussions with top security officials at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday for nearly five and a half hours. A ministry source informed that the meeting with security officials including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki and Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Paudel was focused on preparing to arrest high-profile individuals by opening case files on certain incidents.

Home Minister Gurung, who has been under pressure following allegations of concealing share transactions worth millions for a long time, expressed anger after the meeting. He said that those who eye the nation’s treasury — money earned through blood and sweat — were the ones spreading media trials and sponsored rumors against him. He reiterated a warning that the process of action will not stop regardless of what happens against him.

The meeting reportedly discussed the current security situation, modalities of potential future actions, and sensitive investigations that could reach high political circles.
