“The Time of the West is Over”: Dugin’s New Concept “Westernology”

Moscow – Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin has launched a new academic course called “Westernology.” He has presented it as a revolutionary philosophical education.

Dugin says – for centuries, the West considered itself the only civilization, treating its worldview as the only correct doctrine. But today, this illusion is collapsing.

“Westernology” questions Western “universal values” and puts forward the ideals of a multipolar world. According to him, the 21st century is an era of the renaissance of civilizations.

This course proposes rethinking subjects such as man, time, space, law, and progress – not through the Western framework, but from the perspective of each civilization’s own viewpoint.

Describing Russia as a civilization-state, Dugin says – Russia urgently needs such intellectual decolonization. In the first lecture, he stated that this new discipline is placed as the foundation of human knowledge in a multipolar world.

Dugin concludes: “The time of the West is over.”
