India’s Secretary (West) Meets UN Secretary-General Guterres: Exchange of Views on Multilateralism and UN Reforms

United Nations Headquarters — Secretary (West) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, called on United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During the meeting, George underscored India’s strong commitment to multilateralism. According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, both exchanged views on UN reforms and imparting greater voice to the Global South (developing countries of the South).

India has consistently championed the cause of empowering the Global South. Initiatives such as the India-UN Development Partnership Fund are examples of this commitment.
