Russia and India Agree to Coordinate on Middle East and North Africa Situation

New Delhi — On the sidelines of the BRICS consultations of high representatives on the Middle East and North Africa taking place in New Delhi, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko held meetings with Dr. Neena Malhotra, Secretary (South) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary (CPV & OIA) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

During an in-depth exchange of views, particular attention was given to the situation in the Gulf, as well as developments across the Middle East and North Africa. Both sides underscored the need to stabilize the situation across this vast region as a whole and to resolve all differences by political and diplomatic means.

They agreed to continue close coordination between Moscow and New Delhi on current regional issues.
