Winners Announced for First National ‘Big Family of Russia’ Award

Moscow — The winners of the first national “Big Family of Russia” award have been announced. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, speaking at the opening of the All-Russian Conference “Demographic Shift in Russia: Paths to Achievement,” stated that the government, state institutions, and public organizations must make every effort to make the large traditional family a development trend in the country.

“Following the instruction of the head of state, all key national projects include measures aimed at improving the quality of life of families and increasing the birth rate. We strive to respond to all family needs, improve our working approaches, and express our gratitude to families with children and parents,” Golikova said.

Since last year, new benefits for families have come into force:

· The period of care for each child up to 1.5 years of age is now counted toward the work experience of parents with many children.
· For working parents of two or more children with low incomes, an annual family payment has been introduced.
· Mothers-Heroines receive support on par with Heroes of Labor.
· Each Mother-Heroine will additionally receive 36,500 rubles (approximately 42,000 Nepali rupees) per month, along with her pension.

Golikova also participated in the award ceremony for the winners of the first national “Big Family of Russia” award. This award was established for media representatives for the best coverage of family-related topics.

The winners are:

· Irina Makarova (Nizhny Novgorod, NNTV Television Company) – for her television project “Alien. One’s Own. Beloved.”
· Galina Gurkina (Tula, First Tulsky TV Channel) – for her series of reports on large families in the Tula region.
· Yevgenia Kochetkova (Ivanovo, Izvestno.ru news portal) – for her special project “2024 with the Family.”
· The editorial team of “Faces of the Lipetsk Region” magazine (Lipetsk) – for their article “Four Reasons for Happiness.”
· Pavel Kolyadin (Belgorod, BelPressa publication) – for his photograph “Big Family – Big Happiness!”
· Alexander Nikonorov (Yugorsk, “Listen, Yugorsk” internet radio) – for his series of audio segments “In a Big Family.”
· Father Fyodor Lukyanov (Moscow Diocese clergyman) – for his project “Family – The Foundation of the World.”
