Russian Snipers Undergo Rigorous Training Ahead of Combat Missions: Drills Include Aerial Target Identification and Firing from Various Systems

Moscow — Snipers of the 61st Guards Marine Brigade, part of the Tsentr Group of Forces, have intensified their skill-sharpening drills ahead of deployment on combat missions, according to the Russian Defence Ministry.
As per the information released by the ministry, the main training areas include movement, preparation of positions, camouflaging, and fire training. Instructors are training the servicemen to recognize the nature of aerial targets and engage them even from uncomfortable positions. Firing practice is being conducted using various sniper systems, depending on the distance and characteristics of the target.
The company deputy commanding officer with the call sign ‘Feniks’ and the section leader with the call sign ‘Dan’ shared details of the sniper pair training, stating that the drills are being conducted in line with real combat scenarios. According to the information released by the ministry, the training aims to enhance the effectiveness of snipers on the battlefield.
