Nepal’s Comfortable Victory Over UAE: Karan’s Deadly Bowling, Dipendra’s Half-Century Secure Crucial World Cup League 2 Success

Kirtipur — Nepal secured a crucial 37-run victory over the UAE in the ICC World Cup Cricket League 2 match played on Saturday.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat first at the TU International Cricket Ground, Nepal was bowled out for 200 runs in 48.2 overs. Nepal got off to a poor start, with Aasif Sheikh departing for seven and captain Rohit Paudel returning to the pavilion for just two runs. However, Dipendra Singh Airee played an outstanding innings to guide the team to a respectable total. He top-scored with 75 runs off 90 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. Kushal Bhurtel contributed 24, Karan KC scored 22, Basir Ahamad added 20, Aarif Sheikh and Sompal Kami scored 15 each, and Bhim Sharki chipped in with 10 runs. For the UAE, Junaid Siddique, Ajay Kumar, and Khuzaima Tanveer claimed three wickets each.
Chasing a target of 201, the UAE was bundled out for 163 in 48.2 overs. Nepal’s Karan KC wreaked havoc on the UAE batting lineup, claiming a match-best four wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took two wickets each, while Dipendra Singh Airee and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed one apiece. For the UAE, Harpreet Singh top-scored with 39 off 52 balls including five fours, Muhammad Waseem made 34, and Akshdeep Nath added 30, but their efforts were not enough to take the team across the line. Dipendra Singh Airee was declared Player of the Match.
