Russian Defence Minister Belousov Inspects Russian Military Facilities in Kyrgyzstan

Moscow — Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, as part of a working visit to Kyrgyzstan, has inspected facilities of the Russian military base deployed in the republic. The military base, together with the Kyrgyz armed forces, ensures the protection of the sovereignty and security of both Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The 999th Guards Aviation Base in Kant city, which is part of it, serves as the aviation component of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region under the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).

The commander of the aviation base reported to the Defence Minister on the specifics of carrying out assigned tasks in the current military-political situation, the provision of units with modern models of weapons and military equipment, as well as the development of the facility’s infrastructure. Additionally, the Russian Defence Minister inspected the organisation of combat training for personnel.

During the inspection of the administrative and residential sections of the base, Belousov examined the accommodation and living conditions of military personnel and their families, and also visited the Alexander Nevsky Church at the base.
