Oli-Pun Pair Shines at Dhambhoji, Claims Men’s B Level Title

Nepalgunj. The pair of Bijan Oli and Jitendra Pun claimed the Men’s B Level title at the First Open Dhambhoji Badminton Tournament. In the two-day competition held on Baisakh 19 and 20, the duo of Dipakraj Bam and Himal Basnet secured first place in Men’s C Level, while Aditya Chaudhary Kailali emerged champion in the U-15 Boys’ Singles category.

In Men’s B Level, the pair of Saniulla Raini and Rajesh Saud finished as runners-up. Shiva Shah and Saddam Shesh took the runner-up spot in C Level, and Birat Basnet finished second in U-15 Boys’ Singles. Third-place finishes went to the pairs of Pawan Chaudhary and Sandip Chaudhary, and Arjun Budha and Muskan KC in B Level; Kumar Shan Shah, Naresh Thapa, Naresh Malla, and Parshunarayan Chaudhary in C Level; and Ashutosh Kasaudhan and Bipin KC in U-15 Boys’ Singles.

The winners were awarded by former central member of the Nepal Badminton Association Ratan Kumar Tandan, former coach and player Shrawan Kumar Shrestha, Ward Chair of Nepalgunj-1 Pramod Rijal, Chief of the Area Police Office Kohalpur and badminton player Chakra Dambar Pal, and President of the Banke District Badminton Association Sanjay Thapa, alongside senior national coach Jayanta Shrestha, among others.

Organised by the Dhambhoji Badminton Training Centre in collaboration with Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 1, the tournament received technical support from the Nepal Badminton Association Kathmandu and the Banke District Badminton Association. Centre Chairman Janardan Ratna Malla Thakuri stated that the tournament would be expanded even further in the coming days.
