Kolkata’s Third Straight Win: Hyderabad Crumbles for 120, Defeated by 80 Runs

Kolkata. The Kolkata Knight Riders delivered a commanding performance in the Indian Premier League, securing a comprehensive victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the match played at Eden Gardens on Sunday afternoon, Kolkata defeated Hyderabad by a massive margin of 80 runs to register their third consecutive win.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, Kolkata posted a challenging total of 200 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant knock of 60 runs in an aggressive style, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed a fine 50 runs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane fell for 38 runs, but Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 32 to guide the team to a strong position.

Chasing a target of 201 runs, Hyderabad never looked in control. Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 33 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver. Hyderabad were eventually bowled out for just 120 runs in 16.4 overs.

Bowlers Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy claimed three wickets each to dismantle the Hyderabad batting order and seal the win for Kolkata. With this victory, Kolkata have now accumulated four points from four matches and climbed to fifth place in the points table. Having suffered their third consecutive defeat, Hyderabad have slipped towards the bottom of the standings.
