European Summit Opens in Yerevan, Macron Vows Support for Armenia and Moldova’s Sovereignty

Yerevan. The two-day European Political Community Summit kicked off in the Armenian capital under the slogan “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.”

Among the first European leaders to stride down the red carpet at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex on May 4 to greet Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was French President Emmanuel Macron.

“We will have the opportunity to hold meetings, particularly on issues of supporting the independence and sovereignty of Armenia and Moldova. This is a Europe that is building its own security and defence,” the French President pledged.

The first day of the forum showed that the organisers succeeded in securing the attendance of the maximum number of European leaders.
