Third Edition of ‘One Run’ International Half Marathon to Be Held in Nepal Today, 1,200 Runners from 38 Countries Participating

Lalitpur. The third edition of the ‘One Run’ International Half Marathon is being held in Lalitpur today, jointly organised by the ‘League of Heroes’ and the NRS Sports Foundation, in cooperation with the Nepal Tourism Board and Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Being held with the active support of the Embassy of Russia in Nepal and the Russian House in Kathmandu, the event shall see the participation of 1,200 runners from 38 countries.
The ‘One Run’ Half Marathon was first held simultaneously in 10 Russian cities on 21 May 2017. By 2025, the number of participating countries had reached 25. This event is being organised in Nepal for the third consecutive time.
The event shall be inaugurated by the Mayor of Lalitpur, Mr. Chiri Babu Maharjan. Starting from the iconic Krishna Mandir, the half marathon shall follow a scenic route passing through Mangal Bazar, Pulchowk, Jwalakhel, Kharibot, Ekantakuna, Satdobato, Balkhu, Kalanki, and Sitapaila, before returning along the same route to the starting point.
Runners shall compete in four categories: 21.1 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 1 km, with separate races for men and women. Additionally, a special 1 km diplomatic run shall be held as part of the event, designed for diplomats, company heads, and prominent public figures. The diplomatic run shall highlight the importance of cooperation beyond competition, reflecting the spirit of unity and global friendship that the marathon embodies.
The international dimension of the event is significant, with runners from 38 countries participating, demonstrating Nepal’s growing appeal as a destination for global sporting events.
