Gonggar’s Cultural Showcase Shines at ‘Yarlung Festival’

Lhoka. Under Lhoka City’s prestigious ‘Yarlung Festival’, the special cultural showcase of Gonggar County was recently held in a grand manner at the Lhoka City Cultural and Arts Centre. On this occasion, a cultural feast was presented to the audience through diverse formats, including a ‘Professional Arts Joint Performance’, ‘Local Intangible Cultural Heritage Folk Dance’, and ‘Online Live Streaming’.

According to available information, the Gonggar County Art Troupe and the Art Performance Team of Kyichung Village under Tongra Rural Municipality (Yardrok Yumtso Folk Art Group) delivered a performance blending local folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, and contemporary spirit. The performance not only won the hearts of the audience but also drew significant viewership in the online live streaming room.

A special zone was set up at the local venue for the display of intangible cultural heritage and art performances, alongside an integrated exhibition and sale of handicraft products representing intangible cultural heritage, including carpets, copperware, and woollen fabrics. During the event, over 2,000 materials, including intangible cultural heritage posters and tourism maps, were distributed.

As this was a special presentation by Gonggar County on a city-level stage, it has become an important window to showcase Gonggar’s cultural soft power, while also serving as an exemplary practice in deepening the integrated development of culture and tourism.

The event has expanded the visibility of Gonggar County’s cultural tourism brand, adding a strong cultural impetus to the high-quality development of cultural undertakings across the county and to the construction of a modern socialist county. According to statistics, over 800 spectators attended the event in person, while the online live stream was viewed by more than 10,000 people.
