Brothers FC in Final of First U-20 Nine-A-Side Football Tournament

Nepalgunj. Brothers FC has entered the final of the first U-20 Nine-A-Side Football Tournament organized in memory of Genzi martyrs E. Sulabh Raj Shrestha and Ayush Thapa Magar. In the semi-final held on Tuesday at the ANFA Grassroots Training Centre in Bishalchok, Nepalgunj-01, under the organization of Dhambojhi Club, Brothers FC defeated Baijnath Youth Club 2-1. Sujan Bista scored one goal and Shailendra BC scored one goal, making a total of two goals for Brothers in the victory.

Bista gave his team an early lead by scoring just four minutes into the game, while Shailendra BC netted the second goal in the second half, putting the team in a comfortable position. For Baijnath, Shiva Tamata scored a goal in the 50th minute, but it proved to be merely a consolation. Brothers FC goalkeeper Ritesh Khadka was declared Player of the Match.

Earlier on Tuesday, in the final quarter-final of the tournament, hosts Dhambojhi Club entered the semi-finals by defeating Niklipur Youth Society 3-0. In Dhambojhi’s comfortable win, Royal Pun scored in the 13th minute, Pabin Tharu in the 23rd minute, and Mahesh Budhathoki in the 27th minute. Sudip Pariyar of Dhambojhi was named Player of the Match.

Brothers FC will now compete for the title in the final scheduled for the 21st of Jestha against the winner of the semi-final between hosts Dhambojhi Club and Himalayan Community Club. Organized under the slogan “Sports for Health, Sports for the Nation,” the tournament’s winner will receive a cash prize of NPR 51,000, medals, a trophy, and certificates, while the runner-up will receive NPR 31,000 in cash, medals, a trophy, and certificates, informed Dhambojhi Club Chairman Kunwar. He added that the tournament’s best player and the Player of the Match for every game will also be rewarded.
