Trump Claims U.S. Military Secretly Assisted Over 200 Vessels Through Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the U.S. military has secretly assisted more than 200 commercial vessels in transiting the Strait of Hormuz since last month.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump said the effort had helped more than 100 million barrels of oil pass through the strategic waterway and reach the open market.

Trump also argued that the United States, not Iran, controls the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime routes for global energy trade. He claimed that Iran’s military had been defeated and its economy was in collapse, repeating his hardline position toward Tehran.

His remarks came amid rising tensions in the region, following stalled talks and recent exchanges of fire involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

According to the statement, Trump ordered continued strikes on Iran after a U.S. Army helicopter was downed on Monday. The latest developments have raised concerns over regional security, energy supplies and the stability of international shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz is widely regarded as a highly sensitive passage for global energy markets, as large volumes of crude oil and energy products move through the waterway. Any military escalation in the area could have wider consequences for global trade and oil prices.
