The Nepal–China Mutual Cooperation Society has sent a formal message of congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and China’s Army Day.

In the message, the Society’s President, Prem Sagar Poudel, extended warm congratulations and best wishes to President Xi, the Government of the People’s Republic of China, all officers and personnel of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, and the friendly people of China.

The message noted that since its founding in 1927, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has played a historic role in safeguarding China’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, stability and development achievements.

It stated that under President Xi’s leadership, China has made significant progress in modernizing national defense, advancing scientific and technological innovation, and building world-class armed forces.

Poudel said the PLA’s contribution to disaster relief, humanitarian assistance, United Nations peacekeeping operations and international security cooperation reflects China’s commitment to world peace, stability and common security.

The message described Nepal and China as close neighbours, trusted friends and cooperative partners connected by the Himalayas, history and ancient civilizations.

It further stated that the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, sovereign equality, peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and consideration for each other’s core interests and major concerns remain the enduring foundations of bilateral relations.

Poudel reaffirmed that the Nepal–China Mutual Cooperation Society remains committed to strengthening the traditional friendship, people-to-people relations, cultural exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

He also expressed confidence that Nepal–China relations would continue to gain greater depth, mutual trust and practical achievements under President Xi’s leadership.

The message wished the Chinese People’s Liberation Army every success in achieving its centenary goals in 2027 and extended best wishes for the continued peace, prosperity and progress of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese people.
