Russia Allows Production and Sale of Euro 2–4 Gasoline Until July 2027

The Russian government has temporarily authorised the production, import and sale of Euro 2, Euro 3 and Euro 4 gasoline to help ensure sufficient supplies in the domestic market.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Energy, the measure will remain in effect until July 1, 2027. The ministry clarified that the government has not revised its long-term policy on environmental standards for motor fuel.

The temporary easing of gasoline requirements is expected to make additional volumes available for the domestic market and minimise the risk of supply disruptions.

Under the decision, filling stations will be required to display clear and easily accessible information about the environmental classification of the fuel being sold.

Russian officials said the measure was introduced as a short-term step to maintain stable domestic gasoline supplies and was not intended to weaken fuel quality or environmental standards over the long term.
