The Russian House in Kathmandu has invited applications from teachers qualified to teach Russian as a foreign language.
According to the Russian House, applicants should preferably hold a higher education degree in philology, education or linguistics. Candidates specialising in teaching Russian as a foreign language will be given preference. Those without a relevant academic degree may instead submit a certificate showing completion of professional retraining or advanced courses in Russian-language teaching methodology.
Applicants must have prior experience teaching Russian as a foreign language, including students beginning from the introductory level. Selected teachers will conduct group and individual classes for learners from A0 to A2 levels, prepare and adapt educational materials according to students’ needs, and maintain academic records and reports.
Teachers will also be expected to participate in cultural and educational programmes organised by the Russian House, including open classes, lectures, film screenings, round-table discussions, literary evenings, quizzes and thematic events.
The Russian House said the position offers a flexible working schedule, with remuneration to be determined according to the number of teaching hours and students. Teachers will receive methodological support and access to educational materials, dictionaries, and literature on Russian-language teaching, Russian history and culture.
Selected teachers will also have opportunities for professional development through conferences, seminars, methodological associations and training programmes. The role provides an opportunity to work in an international environment, participate in diplomatic and cultural events, and expand professional networks.
Interested candidates may submit their applications to the Russian House at Kamal Pokhari in Kathmandu. Further information is available by telephone at +977-1-4516650 or by email at [nepal@rs.gov.ru](mailto:nepal@rs.gov.ru).
