RPP Decides Not to Join Bagmati Province Government

The Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided not to participate in the provincial government.

A meeting held late Thursday under the chairmanship of parliamentary party leader Uddhav Thapa decided that, under the current political circumstances, the party would not become part of the emerging power alignment for the formation of a new provincial government and would stay out of the race to join the government.

In Bagmati Province, efforts have been underway to forge a new governing alliance involving the CPN-UML and the Nepali Communist Party after breaking the alliance with the Nepali Congress. During the process, the RPP’s support had also been sought.

However, the RPP Central Working Committee had already decided not to participate in the political alignment being formed for the establishment of the provincial government.

The Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party unanimously endorsed the decision taken by the party’s central leadership.

With this decision, the RPP will remain outside the ongoing power alignment for the formation of a new government in Bagmati Province for the time being.
