Police Investigation Finds 526 Rohingya Entered Nepal Through Various Border Points

At least 526 Rohingya have entered Nepal through various border points, according to Nepal Police.

Speaking at a press briefing held at Nepal Police Headquarters on Friday, police spokesperson Abhinarayan Kafle said the figure had been established through a police investigation.

A few days earlier, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki had also said that Rohingya individuals had been found to have entered Nepal.

According to police, the group includes 162 men, 148 women and 216 children.

They have been found residing in the Kapan and Ram Mandir areas of Kathmandu and the Sunakothi area of Lalitpur.

Police said further investigation is underway into the routes used to enter Nepal, their current situation and details of their residence.
