Uniform Application Format to Be Introduced Across Government Offices

Dragon Media Correspondent

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has approved the “Guidelines on the Format of Applications Used in Government Offices and Their Implementation, 2083” and directed government agencies across the country to implement the standardized system.

The new guidelines are intended to eliminate the inconvenience and confusion citizens face when required to prepare applications in different formats for different government offices. Once implemented, a uniform application format will be used nationwide.

The government expects the measure to make public service delivery simpler, more accessible and more citizen-friendly. Standardization is also expected to improve the processing, registration and record management of applications across government institutions.

The guidelines further support the gradual transition from traditional paper-based procedures to digital platforms. The government aims to expand systems that will eventually allow citizens to submit applications online or through mobile applications.

The initiative is expected to strengthen procedural consistency across government services while supporting the broader expansion of digital administration and contributing to the realization of Nepal’s “Digital Nepal” vision.
