Barshaman Pun Draws PM Balen Shah’s Attention to Rescue and Relief for Rolpa Flood and Landslide Victims

Nepali Communist Party (NCP) leader Barshaman Pun has met Prime Minister Balen Shah and urged the government to ensure immediate rescue and relief for people affected by floods and landslides in Rolpa.
Pun met the prime minister at Singha Durbar on Friday morning. During the meeting, he raised concerns over damage caused by landslides following incessant rainfall in different parts of Rolpa and called for intensified search operations for missing persons and immediate assistance for affected families, according to his secretariat.
Three people have gone missing after a landslide buried a house in Phalbang, Sunchhahari Rural Municipality-2, Rolpa.
The house belonging to local resident Bir Bahadur Gharti Magar was buried by the landslide, leaving him and two others missing.
Similarly, the house of Lade Budha Magar in Gitthe, also in Sunchhahari Rural Municipality-2, was buried by a landslide. The number of people who may have been trapped there has not yet been confirmed.
Pun urged the prime minister to mobilize the necessary government mechanisms to accelerate search and rescue operations, provide immediate relief to affected families, and protect settlements facing further landslide risks, his secretariat said.
