Judge Dangi Among Four Injured Airlifted to Kathmandu for Treatment

Four people, including Judge Gokarna Dangi of the High Court Janakpur, Birgunj Temporary Bench, who were injured in a Scorpio accident in Bhimphedi, Makwanpur, have been airlifted to Kathmandu by a Nepal Army helicopter for further treatment.

The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a Scorpio bearing registration number Province-3-002 Jha 5183, travelling from Kathmandu toward Hetauda, lost control and plunged about 50 metres off the road at Jurakhet in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6.

Six people travelling in the vehicle were injured in the accident. Police said Judge Dangi, 57, of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-9 in Dang, sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body.

According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, Judge Dangi, Registrar Taradatta Badu’s son Ritendra Badu, daughter Rita Badu, and wife Laxmi Badu were airlifted to Kathmandu and admitted to Birendra Military Hospital in Chhauni.

Laxmi Badu is reported to be in serious condition.

Registrar Taradatta Badu and driver Chhunilal Chaudhary, who were also injured in the accident, are receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Makwanpur.

Police said further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
