Trump Says No Talks Scheduled with Iran, Claims Strait of Hormuz Is Open

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that no talks or conversations are currently taking place with Iran and that no negotiations have been scheduled.

In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump said the U.S. naval blockade against Iran remained fully in force.

“There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect,” Trump said.

He also claimed that the strategically important Strait of Hormuz was open and operating.

According to Trump, all naval mines in the waterway have either been removed or detonated, allowing maritime traffic to continue.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes, and its security has become a major international concern amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran.

Iranian authorities, however, have disputed the U.S. assessment that the Strait is fully open. As a result, conflicting accounts continue to emerge regarding the actual operating conditions of the waterway and the movement of commercial vessels.

Trump’s latest statement also indicates that there is currently little prospect of an immediate resumption of direct U.S.-Iran negotiations.

Continued tensions between Washington and Tehran, naval activity in the region and uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz remain significant factors for regional security and global energy markets.
