Nepal Announces 28-Member Preliminary Squad for U-19 Women’s Asia Cup and World Cup

The Cricket Association of Nepal has announced a 28-member preliminary squad, led by captain Soni Pakhrin, for the upcoming U-19 Women’s Asia Cup and next year’s ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.

The players have been selected for the first phase of the national training camp. CAN will announce the final squad after evaluating performances and team requirements during the camp.

The preliminary squad includes captain Soni Pakhrin, Pratha Shrestha, Rachana Chaudhary, Chandramaya Baral, Kusum Godar, Ranjana Saud, Jyotsnika Marasini, Tirsana Bishwakarma, Riya Sharma, Prinsa Rana Magar, Tika Sah, Purnima Rajbanshi and Anjila Pathak.

Also included are Asana Chaudhary, Supriya Budha Magar, Pratima Sah, Sakshi Yadav, Aarti Mahato, Sabitri Dhami, Manisha Chaudhary, Jayanti Bhandari, Ashika Kumari Mahara, Anju Parki, Sonam Joshi, Anu Kadayat, Manisha Kumari Upadhyay, Sana Pravin and Alisa Kumari Yadav.

Several players in the preliminary squad have already represented Nepal’s senior women’s national cricket team, giving the youth side a mix of international experience and emerging talent.

CAN will assess the players during the closed training camp before selecting the final squad for the Asia Cup and the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.
