Flood Death Toll in Nepal Reaches 626, 2,400 Missing: Russian Embassy Seeks Formal Requests from Relatives

The confirmed death toll from the devastating floods in Nepal has reached 626, while around 2,400 people remain missing, according to updated figures cited by the Russian Embassy.

The embassy said there was no new information concerning Russian nationals affected by the disaster.

It has urged relatives of people believed to have been in the disaster-hit areas but who have not been in contact to submit formal requests asking the embassy to assist in tracing them.

According to the embassy, no formal request has yet been received from relatives regarding one Russian citizen currently listed as missing. Information concerning two other people was provided by individuals who identified themselves as friends, colleagues or acquaintances.

The embassy indicated that accurate information from relatives or authorized representatives is important for effectively coordinating search efforts.

Diplomatic missions representing foreign nationals affected by the disaster have been working with Nepali authorities to establish the whereabouts and status of their citizens.
