Manchester United were held to a 2–2 draw by Everton in the English Premier League after conceding an equalizer in the final minute of injury time, forcing United to drop two important points.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored the late goal that secured a point for Everton. The England international, who joined Everton from Lyon on transfer deadline day, struck a powerful effort that gave goalkeeper Senne Lammens no chance.
Everton came from behind twice in the match to earn a point and deny Manchester United their first away victory of the season.
United lost their opening match of the campaign before winning their second fixture. They were forced to share the points in their third game.
Following the draw, Manchester United have four points from three matches. Manchester City remain top of the table with nine points after winning all three of their opening games.
