Russian Navy Training Ship Perekop Calls at Vietnam’s Cam Ranh Port

The Russian Navy training ship Perekop is visiting Vietnam’s Cam Ranh Port on September 7 and 8, in a port call described by the Russian side as another opportunity to strengthen traditional friendship between Russia and Vietnam.
According to the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, the visit is intended to reinforce longstanding bilateral ties and further develop friendly contacts between Russian and Vietnamese sailors.
The port call also provides an opportunity to maintain naval diplomacy and professional military-to-military interaction between the two countries. Russia has presented the visit as part of the continuing tradition of friendly relations and practical cooperation with Vietnam.
During its stay at Cam Ranh, the presence of Perekop is expected to contribute to closer contacts and greater mutual understanding between Russian and Vietnamese naval personnel.
The Russian Embassy said the visit represents another opportunity to strengthen the traditional ties between the two countries and to further develop friendly relations between their sailors.
